Der Elch ist hier!
Here is a simple page of moose/elk translations from around the world for which I will need your help to increase the number of entries. Below the main translation table are examples of some of them in the real world. Please mail me at elk@smouse.force9.net if you have any additions.

From *WALES* comes the "Purple Moose Brewery" or "Bragdy Mŵs Piws".
First conceived in the late summer of 1995, the name was devised by Lawrence Washington. A number of ales have been launched since then including, in October 2005, a new dark ale under the name "Dark Side of the Moose" or "Ochr Tywyll Y Mŵs". This followed some other impressive names such as "Startled Moose", "Old Wobbly Antlers", "Muddled Moose" and "Merry Ex-Moose". How fantastic is that!
Although "mŵs" is a 'welshified' slang translation of moose it sounds good enough to me.
